Plural can either be Aluxob or Aluxes)}} "It is said that aluxes are ancient spirits who take the preferred form of small people and live deep in the forest.  They resemble children in many ways beside their diminutive stature.   Like small children they are usually energetic and happy.  They are playful and love trickery of all sorts.  Usually their tricks are harmless and humorous to all except, perhaps, their victims.  But also like children, they are quick to upset and anger, instantaneously going into a pout or even a rageful tantrum if things do not go their way.   Because of their mystic powers, it is best to stay on the good side of the alux, for their trickery can take an evil turn if they feel mistreated.  It is therefore important for all to learn what they can of the alux, for their own selfish welfare at the very least, even if not to enjoy the wonder of the spirit of the forest manifested in the alux."

"Some Maya believe that the Aluxob are called into being when a farmer builds a little house on his property, most often in a maize field (milpa). For seven years, the alux will help the corn grow, summon rain and patrol the fields at night, whistling to scare off predators or crop thieves. At the end of seven years, the farmer must close the windows and doors of the little house, sealing the alux inside. If this is not done, the alux will run wild and start playing tricks on people.

Some contemporary Maya even consider the single- and double-story shrines that dot the countryside to be kahtal alux, the “houses of the alux” (although their true origins and purpose are unknown).

Stories say that they will occasionally stop and ask farmers or travellers for an offering. If they refuse, the aluxes will often wreak havoc and spread illness. However, if their conditions are met, it is thought the alux will protect a person from thieves or even bring them good luck. If they are treated with respect, they can be very helpful.

It is believed that it is not good to name them aloud, as it will summon a disgruntled alux from their home."

Powers: Spells, hexes, ect. Mostly does small or simple spells as more complicated spells require a lot more energy and wear Nacho out rather quickly.

He can also create dopplegangers, but has not perfected it yet, thus he can only create visual copies of himself.

Has some shapeshifting abilities; can change into a crow, a snake, his human form, and his true alux form.

Personality: While his demenor and maturity is equal to that of a petulant child, Nacho is highly intelligent, skilled at observing human/supernatural behavior, and highly knowledgeable with mathematics; making him suitable to observe and spy on just about anyone.


History: Born during Spain’s initial arrival to Mexico, Ah Tepeu Bistol (currently usuing the name Ignacio “Nacho” Libre), is from a small group of little known creatures called Alux. Having been separated from his family during a raid, Nacho unwittingly snuck aboard a Spanish trade ship and ended up in Spain as a slave. Soon after he arrived he came under the care of his master, Don Libre, a wizard who had a thing for exotic artifacts. Nacho stayed with his master until his death and repeated the process of living with other adults, moving from "parent" to "parent", caring for all of them until death, until he met Archibald Rochester in the early 90s and joined the Grimoire.
